New York, November 18, 2010 — Wunderman Sydney’s creative director Matt Batten, has just been named Digital Creative of the Year by Campaign Magazine Asia Pacific. Matt was the driving force behind impressive campaigns on behalf of Earth Hour and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8, as well as pulling in several pieces of new business. Under Matt’s direction, Wunderman Sydney created Earth Hour, an innovative campaign that pushed the boundaries of Augmented Reality by combining it with data capture, live data streaming, personalization, Google geo-coding and adaptive file updating.Another groundbreaker, TenGrandisBuriedHere.com, was created for the Microsoft Internet Explorer launch. ”This Digital Creative award joins a litany of accolades Matt has won in recent years. His trophy case includes Cannes, Caples, and Echo, and he currently holds the record for the most awards won at a single ADMA Awards. Not only has Matt won awards, but he’s judged the work of his peers, serving on local and international awards juries including two tours at the AWARD and ADMA Awards and one at the John Caples International Awards.Matt is a champion of the art and science of direct marketing, serving as chairman of the ADMA Agency Council. In that role, Matt has been engaged in developing the ADMA awards and forum, and has lead the way to creating more industry leading events. He has personally taught the next generation of marketers at three of Australia’s best creative training ground — ADMA’s DM CreativeSchool, AWARD School, and AFA’s AdSchool — for the past six years. Batten has also personally trained over 100 of Australia’s most promising young creatives.Named head lecturer of the DM CreativeSchool in 2008, he helped re-write the curriculum to include more in-depth digital and integrated work.
