Veteran Marketer Nancy Mitchell Joins Wunderman Toronto

TORONTO, November 10, 2011—Wunderman Toronto President Mark Russell today named Nancy Mitchell to the newly created post of EVP, general manager. Mitchell will oversee the daily running of the account management and delivery services teams. In this role she will provide strategic planning leadership on current clients and new business prospects, including marketing plans, program design, creative and analytics. She begins immediately and joins Wunderman from Klick, where she served as vice president, strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Russell said, “Nancy is a tremendous talent and proven leader. Our clients rely on our ability to create solutions to their challenges, which is what Nancy has done for over 20 years. She has demonstrated the strategic vision, and dedication, that consistently provides value to her clients. I think we are lucky to have her.”
At Wunderman, Mitchell will be involved immediately on the agency’s Ford, Microsoft, Kraft, SiriusXM and Smucker’s accounts, among others.

Mitchell joins Russell’s management team, which includes leaders for strategy, creative, marketing sciences, media optimization and project management, and has built a strong integrated practice for clients with a heavy focus on social, digital, CRM and analytics. The Toronto office is a full-service Wunderman network hub that includes the capabilities of both Wunderman and digital/social media powerhouse Blast Radius. At Klick, Mitchell served as vice president, strategy, for its Toronto office, developing integrated digital marketing (websites, digital media, eCRM, mobile, social) for clients, including Sony Rewards U.S., Pfizer Canada, Bristol-Myers Squibb U.S. and Novartis Europe. Prior to her time at Klick, Mitchell served as the managing director of Rapp Canada (2001–2010).
Mitchell is active on several committees of the Canadian Marketing Association. She has also helped a number of clients win awards for creativity and results, including Canadian Marketing Association Awards, NAMMU Awards, DMA International ECHO Awards and Communicator Awards.
