With more than 30 years’ experience in creative, strategy and executive leadership positions within both client and agency organizations, Barry Kessel is an acknowledged leader in the disciplines collectively known as relationship marketing.

Barry serves as Wunderman’s senior managing director, Global Enterprise Accounts and is responsible for growing our P&G account as well as business in the technology and financial services sectors. In this role, Barry draws on his extensive knowledge of digital, direct and database marketing to help connect customers and brands to mutual benefit. With Barry’s deep network of Wunderman and WPP connections, and his working knowledge across marketing disciplines, he is able to help major companies deepen their engagement with their consumers.

Prior, Barry served for six years as CEO of RTC, a Wunderman network company based in Washington, D.C.  Before that, he was Wunderman’s chief client development officer and president of Wunderman’s New York office. Barry has more than 20 years experience working with IBM and ran IBM’s global direct marketing account at Wunderman.

Earlier in his career, Barry was president of Chapman Direct Advertising in New York and general manager of Stone & Adler in Toronto. He was also responsible for global marketing communications at Time Inc. magazines.

Barry has worked with a wide range of client organizations in both consumer and business-to-business, and in a global and local capacity, including IBM, Dell, AT&T,  Samsung, Procter & Gamble, Kodak, Kraft, Sears, the U.S. Postal Service, United Airlines, Citibank, AARP and Ford. He has extensive experience in the DTC world as well, having worked with clients such as Pfizer, Merck, AstraZeneca and Novartis.

An expert in implementing multichannel marketing programs, Barry is a frequent speaker and writer in marketing circles and the recipient of multiple Effie Awards from the AMA, Echo Awards, as well as the Henry Hoke Award from the Direct Marketing Association for effective use of new marketing channels. He is the co-author of ”Defining, Measuring and Managing Loyalty.”

Barry resides in Alexandria, VA with his wife and has two adult children. He is a passionate gardener, beach-walker, acoustic guitar aficionado and acceptable chef.
