As president of Wunderman North America, Kass Sells leads teams across the US and Canada in creating consumer engagements, branded experience and data-driven marketing and advertising programs for some of the world's most important and well-known brands. Kass was also named to the Wunderman Executive Board in March 2013.
Kass joined Wunderman in 2007 in a dual role, as managing director of Wunderman Seattle and global client lead for Team Microsoft, a group of over 1,200 people dedicated to enhancing the Microsoft brand around the globe. As a result of his leadership and Team Microsoft's efforts, Microsoft consolidated its global relationship marketing work with Wunderman as its single RM Agency of Record. Kass credits the team's success to an unwavering commitment to its core principles: strong local relationships, shared accountability, creative and operational excellence, innovation, driving to business outcomes and being Microsoft's best business partner.
The scope and scale of Wunderman's relationship with Microsoft has grown substantially during Kass's tenure. The agency's continued growth is powered by innovative campaigns for brands such as Windows, Windows Phone, Office, Xbox, Surface and Bing.
Since joining the agency in 2007, Kass has also added T-Mobile to Wunderman’s roster of clients, and under his leadership it has grown to be one of Wunderman’s largest accounts.
Kass recognizes the challenges and opportunities the future holds, especially as they relate to technology's impact on the marketing discipline. Kass is a thought leader in the advertising community, and his efforts have gained recognition in competitions that include the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival and the Effies. During Kass's time at Wunderman, the agency's work has garnered numerous industry accolades, including the DMA’s inaugural Personal Connections ECHO Award in 2012. Kass empowers his creative teams around the world to continuously raise the bar on the quality of the work being done for Wunderman's clients.
Kass graduated from the University of Washington and remains active in Seattle's higher education community as a member of the 101 Club, a community-based organization that promotes amateur athletics by providing scholarships for promising student athletes. Kass makes the most of the Pacific Northwest's outdoors lifestyle, and he occasionally manages to escape to his family cabin on the scenic Hood Canal.
